One big advantage I have found with Jam is that it is easy to produce mixed-mode CDs without losing control over the audio partition of the disc. I've just made the jump from Masterlist to Roxio Jam and have found it very painless as the two programs share much in common and work in practically the same way (wish I could say the same about my jump from a beige G3 and OS9 to a G4 and OSX!). Digi would therefore have a hard job making a profit given the cost of maintaining all those CD-writer profiles. Digi discontinued Masterlist.there may be hope for this happening.ĭon't hold your breath - Digi withdrew masterlist because, amongst other things:Ī) It requries a huge ammount of work to keep up with compatibility for the myriad or CD writers that are out thereī) Other developers whose primary business is CD writing software have superior products and larger marketplaces. Can any developer see the need here in the Mac community and respond?Ģ.- I totally agree that this feature should reside within Pro Tools. I use the plugins in Pro Tools, I do not need plugins in my CD Burner, I just need an easy to use graphic interface and full pro implimentation. Peak by the way does now allow CD Burning, but it is cumbersome, and is not truly a full featured pro burner, maybe they should come out with a mastering edition? By the way, the trend of justifying new versions with lotsa plug ins that never get used is redundant. This should be an option from within Pro Tools, but at the very least, Waveburner OSX would be welcome, and once again, our investment in software reaches a premature dead end. However, Toast 6 does provide the option to burn multiple copies from that disk image, so this is good.but we need a true graphic display with fully pro red book burner (the ability to see and print a full text list organized in columns not a simple text file) with print out capability. Wasting a lot of time with current fast hard drives. The fact that Jam uses the Toast engine to burn means every burn requires a disk image. The cross fade function is confusing and does not provide solid info on how cross fade will work, requiring a lot of trial and error. Jam however has several drawbacks (version 5.0.1 with toast 6) One, it is a drag to not have full graphic display of waveform, so you can double check your bounces and really fine tune cross fades. I only reboot into OS 9 for waveburner, and relying on Jam more to avoid the reboot. I've already looked into other mastering/red book CD burning programs. Is it being rolled into some new product? It's a PITA to bounce back and forth between Mac OS9 and X in order to ![]() Therefore, I consider myself a licensed user. This is becoming an increasingly frustrating situation. International manufacturers response regarding software updates: They continue to send the same reply which seems to have become the I've emailed Emagic several times since last March asking this very Has anyone heard anything regarding this issue? What's the holdup with Waveburner running on OSX? 3.- Their plug-ins are operating within Logic
